Job Description

This is an opportunity for experienced Senior & Lead Microsoft Business Intelligence & Analytics professionals, to join a world leading partner of Microsoft. You will take ownership of client projects and lead the design and delivery of solutions to FTSE100 clients that leverage Microsoft technologies for business intelligence and advanced analytics.

In the UK, the BI, Data Science and Advanced Analytics practice, established in 2015, leads the way in the adoption of Microsoft data platform technology for advanced analytics and business intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Working with clients to establish business requirements and develop cloud and on premise solutions for BI, advanced analytics and data science
  • Design and develop bespoke BI & Advanced Analytics solutions that leverage the Microsoft BI capabilities in SQL Server 2016/17 (including Azure Analysis Services and Power BI) to transform complex data into actionable insights for clients
  • Implement solutions using industry best practices for the management and transformation of data
  • Consistently stay up to date with the latest developments in Microsoft data & analytics technologies to drive strategy and inform clients
  • Take ownership of projects and collaborate with multi-disciplined teams including client resources, onshore and offshore colleagues
  • Instilling trust & confidence with the client, ensuring commercial objectives are achieved
  • Lead/Mentor junior members of the team
  • Support Senior members of the team in pre-sales engagements to demonstrate the possibilities afforded by the latest developments in Microsoft Data & Analytics technologies

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills gained in industry, management consultancy or system integrator environments
  • Demonstrable experience in the application of MS stack technology to achieve or overcome a business solution or problem
  • SQL Server up to 2014 or above and experience with the traditional Microsoft BI Stack: SSRS, SSIS, SSAS
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • Experience using data discovery tools (such as MS Power BI) to develop informative reports and dashboards
  • Ability to model and transform data, build ETL solutions and present data in a useful business context
  • Appreciation and enthusiasm for the Microsoft roadmap for MS Azure / MS SQL Server and associated BI stack technology
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable Experience:

  • Knowledge or experience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Store and Azure Data Lake Analytics, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Analysis Services
  • Awareness of Data Science technologies, such as R or Azure Machine Learning
