Job Description

This is an opportunity for an experienced HR professional to provide important cover during a maternity period of up to one year.  The successful candidate will work as part of a wider HR Team, focusing on employee relations, performance management employee retention and recruitment for a UK-leading professional services company.

Responsibilities
Responsible for advising and executing on staff policies & strategy and improving internal communications to improve the overall employee experience.

  • Support an environment of continuous professional development for all staff underpinned by the company’s established career development framework
  • Manage the employee on-boarding process
  • Work with departmental managers to ensure job specifications exist for all existing roles and are created for all vacant roles
  • Work closely with hiring managers to ensure successful recruitment in line with budgets and targets
  • Perform staff surveys to measure employee satisfaction and use this data to drive retention and engagement activity
  • Arrange company events focused on employee retention and engagement
  • Ensure employee records are kept up to date
  • Administer absence, sickness, grievance and disciplinary processes
  • Advise leadership on known and potential HR risk and updates in Employment law
  • Administer employee background checking processes and ensure all employees have the correct documents in accordance with UK Employment Law

Desired Skills and Experience
You will have the desire and ambition to develop your career within Human Resources, coupled with the requisite strength of character to handle challenging situations when they occur

  • 5 years commercial experience working as an HR Manager, ideally in a professional services environment (such as legal services, management consultancy, or systems integration)
  • Broad HR knowledge supported by a professional qualification such as CIPD
  • Strong IT skills to include Microsoft Office and previous experience of business systems such as ERP, HRIS or CRM
  • Knowledge and experience in employment law
  • Experience in employee engagement and development
  • Strong organisational, administrative, people management, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and able to talk to people at all seniority levels
  • Bachelor degree or higher, ideally HR and/or business education

Additional Information

  • Employment Type:  Fixed Term Contract
  • Salary Offered:  £50k per annum (Pro Rated @ 60% - 80%)  + Annual Leave + Benefits:  25 Days Annual Leave (Pro rated @ 60%-80%) + Extensive employment benefit
  • Working Pattern:  3-4 Days per week
